Welsh Football League club Cwmbran Celtic have signed forward Rhys Thomas from Welsh Premier League side Cardiff Metropolitan.
The young forward has been part of the Archers since 2016 after joining from Merthyr Town and has featured for the Met in their three seasons in the Welsh Premier League. He links up with fellow forwards Lewis Iles, Josh Bull and Tom Haggett.
Cwmbran Celtic confirmed the move on their social media channels before their game this afternoon.
He made his debut for the Welsh League outfit this afternoon in front of a home crowd as Cwmbran Celtic lost 2-0 to Briton Ferry Llansawel at Celtic Park on Saturday afternoon.
This season Thomas scored two goals for Christian Edwards’ side in the Welsh Premier League. He was also shown a red card against Aberystwyth Town in a 3-2 defeat for the Students back in November.
In total, the 21-year-old scored four goals in the Welsh Premier League in 29 appearances.
Thomas scored for the Archers against Carmarthen Town in the earlier stages of the Nathaniel MG Cup. His last appearance for the Met came against Ton Pentre in the JD Welsh Cup.
