Aberystwyth Town make quintuple of signings on Deadline Day

Aberystwyth Town have confirmed the additions of Adam Walters, Bradley Johnson, Carwyn Jones, Harry Cottam and Jamie McDaid.

All five players put pen to paper on deals yesterday and now Aberystwyth have confirmed the signings this morning, despite being manageress following Neville Powell’s movement to Director of Football.

They join forward Marc Williams who joined the club from Bangor City on Wednesday after forward Porya Ahmadi left Park Avenue to join Newtown. Former Wales U19’s goalkeeper Callum Preston also joined the club earlier this month.

Midfielder Nashawn Blake has also been released from his Black and Greens contract.

Aberystwyth Town confirmed the signings and said: “Everyone at the club would like to wish all five new signings a warm welcome to Park Avenue and will look forward to seeing them on the field for the Seasiders.”

Adam Walters returns to the club having spent last season with the club. He played for Aberystwyth University and most recently placed for Barmouth & Dyffryn United.

Bangor born Carwyn Jones joins from Cymru Alliance side Penrhyncoch and is able to play as a full-back or a winger.

Harry Cottam joins from Mid Wales League side Carno, having previously played for the Aberystwyth U18’s side under Academy boss Bari Morgan, before gaining the first-team experience with Carno.

Experienced forward Jamie McDaid joins from Cymru Alliance outfit Holyhead Hotspur. McDaid has playing experience with Bangor City and Holywell Town. He has played in both the Cymru Alliance and in the JD Welsh Premier League.

Bradley Johnson has also moved to Aberystwyth, but his move is dependent on international clearance after moving from New Zealand. Johnson was previously on the books of Manchester City as a youngster.
