Jordan Davies and Leo Smith linked with move to Port Vale – reports

Port Vale have been linked with a double swoop for Welsh domestic pair Jordan Davies and Leo Smith.

Both players have experience of playing in the English non-league system with Smith playing for Wrexham and Davies for Nantwich Town.

Port Vale website OneValeFan.co.uk says that the Valiants are keen in signing Caernarfon Town midfielder Leo Smith and Prestatyn Town striker Jordan Davies.

The rumours stemmed from a social media post from Port Vale social media page ‘Unofficial Vale‘.

Smith, has been at Caernarfon for a season-and-a-half after moving to the Gwynedd club permanently following his release from Wrexham last summer.

The 22-year-old made 23 outings for Caernarfon last season and his performances earnt him a call up to the Wales C squad.

He had previously played for Llandudno in the first part of the 2018/19 season, making 19 league appearances.

Before his move to Caernarfon and Llandudno, Smith accumulated 28 senior appearances for Wrexham.

The North Wales Chronicle says Connah’s Quay and The New Saints are also interested in securing the services of Smith.

In the report, it says the Canaries have offered Smith a new deal to keep him at The Oval.

Davies is in his second spell at Bastion Gardens and helped guide the Seasiders to the JD Cymru North title.

According to The Journal, Davies isn’t expected to return to Prestatyn which could free up a move to Port Vale.

He is not the only Prestatyn player to be linked with a move to the professional game.

His teammates Dan Roberts and Danny Davies have both been linked with a trial with Tranmere Rovers according to The Journal
