New Saints goalkeeper Lewis Dutton joins Chorley

New Saints goalkeeper Lewis Dutton will depart Park Hall after signing a pre-contract agreement with Chorley.

The 19-year-old is leaving The New Saints after spending nine years with the 13-time Cymru Premier winners.

Dutton featured in TNS’ 9-0 victory over Mold Alexandra in December 2019 and was a backup to club captain Paul Harrison this season.

He is expected to play in the same role at Chorley, working as an understudy to Matt Urwin.

“I’m really happy have signed for an ambitious club like Chorley, a club that has set their sights on promotion,” said Dutton after making the move to Victory Park.

“I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my career and continuing my development as a footballer.”

After securing the services of Dutton, manager Jamie Vermiglio said: “We’re happy to have Lewis on board as a young player with a lot of ability and loads of potential.

“We’ve had excellent scouting reports, watched him a number of times and once again he fits the profile of player we’re trying to attract to the club.”
