Holywell Town appoint defender Sudlow as manager
Holywell have announced that defender Gareth Sudlow will become the new manager of the first team following John Haseldin’s departure.
After former manager Haseldin decided to resign from his position due to work commitments, Holywell were forced to make a change and they have moved quickly to give central defender Sudlow the manager’s job on a player-manager basis.
Sudlow has a wealth of experience in the division having previously played for Caersws, Airbus, Conwy Borough before his stint with the club, something he will most certainly want to utilise in his new role.
He will be assisted by coaches Andy Lewis & Dave Sweet. Sweet had previously coached with Hawarden Rangers.
“I am really happy to secure Gareth as 1st Team Manager. He shares our plans for the future and will be able to continue the sides climb up the Huws’s Gray Alliance.” said Holywell chairman Sean Elliot.
Sudlow had taken time out of the game, but Haseldin reintroduced the player into the Welsh football fold with his move to Holywell.
The move has transpired to become one of stability for Sudlow who will now continue to extend his association with the club in the position of player-manager for the forthcoming season.
Holywell finished fifth last season and reached the Huws Gray Cup Final.
Haseldin was the manager of the Huws Gray outfit for six seasons, and led the club to the treble during the 2014/15 season, as the side romped to the Welsh Alliance title, the FAW Trophy and the Mawddach Cup.
Since then Haseldin has consolidated their position as one of the Huws Gray’s most formidable outfits, as he led them to 14 wins in 28 matches in his final season in charge.
