Join the Team at Y Clwb Pêl-droed
Passionate about Welsh football? Want to build experience, grow your profile, and be part of something that genuinely makes an impact?
Y Clwb Pêl-droed is expanding, and we’re looking for ambitious, creative and driven volunteers to help shape the next chapter of Welsh domestic football coverage.
Over the years, many of our contributors have progressed into professional roles across the sports media industry. While we’re incredibly proud of that success, it means we’re now rebuilding and this is your opportunity to step into a platform with real credibility, real responsibility, and real reach.
YCPD has become a recognised home for Welsh domestic football coverage, dedicated to telling the stories of clubs and communities across the country. Now, we’re looking for the next generation to carry that forward.
Volunteering is a commitment, we understand that. Many of our contributors balance studies, full-time jobs, and other responsibilities. But for those able to invest their time and passion, Y Clwb Pêl-droed has proven to be a powerful springboard into the media industry.
Right now, we’re especially keen to strengthen our editorial team, people who can publish articles, help shape content ideas, and drive the direction of coverage.
If you love Welsh football or want to immerse yourself in it, we want to hear from you.
We’re looking for people who are passionate about Welsh football or keen to develop a deeper interest in the vibrant and ever-evolving game across Wales. Whether you’re already involved or just beginning your journey, there’s a place for you at Y Clwb Pêl-droed.
Explore the roles below and see where you could make your mark.
If you’re inspired by what you’ve seen and ready to join the passionate team at Y Clwb Pêl-droed, get in touch with Harrison Jones at hazrjones@gmail.com or email the page directly at yclwbpeldroed@gmail.com. We’d love to hear from you.
✍️ Written Contributors
Our written coverage is the backbone of YCPD. We pride ourselves on consistency — rarely does a day pass without fresh content.
We’re looking for contributors to cover clubs across Wales, from the Cymru Premier down to the fifth tier, including the Ardal Leagues and feeder leagues.
Coverage can include:
- Live blogs
- Match reports
- Post-match interviews
- Player ratings
- “What We Learned” analysis
- Features, interviews and opinion pieces
There are also opportunities to cover Wales U21s, U19s and Women’s matches (subject to accreditation)
Photographers
Visual storytelling is at the heart of everything we do, so every piece benefits from high-quality images. We’re always on the lookout for photographers to join us voluntarily. You retain full rights to your work, and your contributions are always valued and credited. Many of our photographers have gone on to secure paid opportunities after showcasing their images on Y Clwb Pêl-droed.
Cameramen/ Video Editors
We’re gearing up to launch a YouTube channel packed with original Welsh football content, and we need your help to make it happen! Our plans include a weekly vodcast covering the Cymru Leagues, featuring match highlights, analysis, and behind-the-scenes coverage.
We want to bring our articles to life on video, taking inspiration from HITC Sevens, Irish Fan TV, and Tifo Football, but with a uniquely Welsh perspective. This is a chance to be part of something from the ground up, helping to shape how Welsh football is showcased online.
In the meantime, our social media pages already feature lower league match highlights, often captured on mobile phones, but we’re looking for volunteers to film, edit, and create content that takes our coverage to the next level. Whether you’re an aspiring cameraman, video editor, or content creator, there’s a role for you.
Content and Social Media
YCPD already has a graphics pack in place for our social media platforms, but we’re always open to fresh ideas and creative approaches. If you’re interested in helping run our Facebook, Instagram, and X (Twitter) accounts — creating engaging posts, campaigns, or new content formats — we’d love to hear from you and discuss how you can make an impact.
Data Collators
Fascinated by the history of Welsh football? Join us in preserving and sharing the game’s rich past while keeping fans up to date with the present.
We’re looking for volunteers to maintain fixtures, league tables, and results, as well as to help source archival content from historic league scores to tracking the careers of managers and clubs. Your contributions will help YCPD become the definitive resource for both the past and present of Welsh football.
If this sounds like your kind of role, reach out to us via our social media pages, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
