I spoke to Chris Davies, Carno Manager, he started off by saying
Hawarden started very brightly, they pressed us very well and gave us little chance to settle in to the game. They had the first few chances which were comfortably saved by Kris Williams.
It seemed a very even first half which saw the sides go in at half time 0-0.
2 minutes in to the second half and Hawarden took the lead. After consecutive corners they made it count.
5 minutes later we were level, Peter Rees rounded the keeper and neatly slotted away from a tight angle. We had a few opportunities after this including Rees lobbing the keeper only to be denied by the post.
Hawarden then caught Carno sleeping and made them pay for it, seeing a Hawarden substitute come off the bench and scoring with basically his first touch. Hawarden 2-1 Carno. Full Time.
Overall a fair result Hawarden deserved their win but was a shame for us as if we had played anywhere near our best I think we could have one away with a win. Credit to Hawarden as they stopped us getting in our stride. They also defended very well. All the best to them in the next round.
