As Cardiff Met look to secure a top six finish before the split, we look at the players who have stood out for The Students this season.
Will Fuller
With Will Fuller in between the sticks, the Met have the third best defence in the league and are in the top twenty for one of the sternest defences in Europe. His man of the match performance against Llandudno two weeks ago comes as no surprise as he stood strong, making number of acrobatic saves.
His willingness to begin attacks from his own box has helped Met when attacking on the counter attack proves that he has adapted well at Welsh Premier League level. With the Met only conceding the once in 580 minutes, the Met can trust their number one.
Jordan Lam
Jordan Lam has been a revelation for the Met this season. In Met’s very first home game against Bala, he was causing the veteran defenders problems and was unlucky not to score. It took him a while to get off the mark but a brace against Cefn Druids as well as a goal against Rhyl has made the Welsh Premier League aware of him. He is arguably Met’s best attacking outlet.
Emlyn Lewis
The presence of Emlyn Lewis has been a key reason behind how Met have performed so well defensively this season. Despite his red card against Llandudno, he has learned from it and become a key player for met. The stature that Emlyn Lewis poses allows him to gain one up on the leagues’ strikers, winning most aerial duels. As well as being a good ball playing defender, he is a player that is vocal and that benefits the team, becoming one of Met’s leaders on the pitch.
