Brickfield Rangers, Chirk AAA, FC Queens Park and FC Nomads of Connah’s Quay have applied for promotion to the Huws Gray Alliance.

All clubs were given till the 31st December to make their intentions known of promotion to the second tier of Welsh football.

FC Nomads of Connah’s Quay were the winners of the Premier Division last season but failed to meet the criteria after a possible move to Airbus UK’s Airfield Stadium wasn’t submitted in time, they currently sit 7th in the table, 17 points off the top.

Brickfield Rangers currently lead the division by one point over FC Queens Park, who beat them in the North East Wales FA Cup on Saturday. Chirk AAA are 4th in the table, 12 points behind 2nd placed Queens Park.

FC Queens Park will play at the Queensway Stadium should they gain promotion to the second tier.

League leaders Brickfield released a statement on the news that they had applied for promotion should they finish in a promotion spot.

“Promotion is key so that we give the youth of the community an opportunity to continue playing football at the highest level possible hence why we have applied to go up to the Cymru Alliance.

We feel Brickfield at the next level will help us deliver our dream to support the community. We are here to develop a footballing legacy.”

Chirk AAA also put out a statement, showing that the club is prepared for the next level.

“Although Chirk are currently quite a way behind the leaders Brickfield & FC Queens Park, we are keen to show our players and supporters that we are committed to improve the status of our club. Our ground is being inspected this Thursday and we will be looking to bring our facilities up to the required standard for Level 2 on the findings of the inspection.”
