Joe Clarke has departed Welsh Premier League outfit Aberystwyth Town in order to sign for Llanelli Town.
The defender only joined the Black and Greens this summer from Port Talbot Town, however has been forced to leave due to work and family commitments.
Bishop signed the 25 year-old after joining the club as their new manager this summer, and has relied on Clarke in his backline. The defender has virtually been ever present for Aber this term, with 19 appearances.
Clarke managed to bag two goals for Bishop’s side against Newtown last weekend, which salvaged their chances of reaching the top six with a last gasp equaliser. His loss is a big blow as Aber chase a top half finish before the Phase One split.
However, the Mid Wales’ side’s loss, is Llanelli Town’s gain. Andy Hill has managed to snap up the 25 year-old with Welsh Premier League experience for his Division Two side who look nailed on for promotion this season.
With a child on the way, Clarke wanted to play for a club more local to his South Wales roots, and Andy Hill presented him the perfect opportunity.
Time will tell if he goes straight into the squad after the Christmas break for the Reds.
