Rhyl have captured gap Connah’s Quay defender Chris Rimmer after a deal was agreed between the two sides.
The Lilywhites have added former defender Chris Rimmer to their ranks as they prepare for Phase Two of the Welsh Premier League.
Rimmer originally joined the club in his first spell from then at the time Evo-Stik Northern Division One side Prescott Cables back in 2013 before leaving to join the Cefn Druids and then gap Connahs Quay.
Rimmer has made a handful of appearances for The Nomads, mostly coming on from the bench.
Interestingly, Rimmer came up against his now current side Rhyl, in a fixture which saw him sent off, conceding a foul which meant Paul McManus would score from the spot.
Speaking to the Rhyl website, Niall McGuiness spoke of his delight of the return of Rimmer.
“Chris is a player who I have watched in the Dafabet Welsh Premier League over the last few seasons and has been very impressive during his time in the league.
I feel he will add a lot of quality and experience to our side whilst Chris is also a good communicator and he will gives us a good threat on set pieces.”
The man himself, Rimmer also spoke to the club website, mentioning how Rhyl are a club on the up.
“Rhyl are a big football club and I believe that they are a club which is going in the right direction for the future and my role will be ensuring more clean sheets for the team.”
Rimmer could make his second debut for the club against Llandudno on Saturday.

We wish Chris every success at Rhyl , hes been a great bloke to have about, his injury prevented him playing as often as we would have hoped ,(for us this year). He’s still a young player and has every chance to do well.
We will miss his dad around the place too.
