Bala Town FC have announced the extension of Michael Hayes and Anthony Stephens’ contracts this afternoon.
The pair’s commitment comes after significant periods of form for striker Hayes and defensive midfielder Stephens.
The news will come as a boost to Bala, who are in pole position to secure automatic Europa League football in 2nd place.
Mike Hayes has renewed his contract as the club’s current top scorer, notching 14 goals in the Dafabet Welsh Premier and 22 across all competitions. Hayes is enjoying a renewed rate of goals during his second spell at Bala, having spent nearly four years at the club combined.
Anthony Stephens has signed after originally joining Bala in 2015, going onto make 67 appearances. He has adopted a defensive midfield role, making 33 appearances for Bala this season so far as they look to secure their place in Europe.
Speaking to Bala Town’s official website, manager Colin Caton said:
“I’m really pleased to secure the re-signing of Anthony. He has played in a number of positions this season from midfield to left back and centre back and he is still only very young so I’m pleased.
“I’m really happy that Mike has committed himself to the club again. Mike has been outstanding this season, not just with his goalscoring but his workrate to the team”.
