Rhyl offer free entry for final WPL game of season

Rhyl have announced that they will offer free entry as a token of loyalty in their final Welsh Premier League game of the season against Llandudno.

The Lilywhites have said there will be an opportunity to donate to the club to put together a budget that will allow the team to remain competitive next season.

Following their relegation to the Huws Gray Alliance, it will be a chance for supporters to see top flight football for the last time before Niall McGuiness regroups his side as they look to spearhead an imminent return to the Welsh Premier League.

The game will kick off at 5:15 alongside every other game in the league, but with mostly everything wrapped up now in the Premier League and nothing to play for, it may allow McGuiness to experiment and try different tactics, as well as blooding through some players who may not have experienced enough game time this season.

Rhyl were relegated last weekend after losing 4-0 away at Aberystwth Town in what was a must-win match.

It is hopeful that the offer will bring more parents in alongside local school children of both clubs, as Rhyl seek to attract more fans with such an opportunity.

“Saturday’s game, which is to be sponsored by Cartrefi Conwy, has seen thousands of free tickets for children distributed in the Rhyl and Llandudno area to encourage local children to attend the game.  This decision will allow parents to enter the ground free of charge in addition.”
