Alex Fletcher has left Newtown to join Conference North side Southport.
He played a big part in The Robins’ rise from the foot of the table, to play off candidates, scoring four goals in the process, all of which came against relegated Airbus UK.
The midfielder joined in the summer of 2016 from Tividale and made 26 appearances and a further four from the bench.
Fletcher’s career began with Shrewsbury Town, before being released, and went on to play for Ross County in Scotland, AFC Telford and Tividale
Fletcher joins Jason Oswell and Shane Sutton in departing the club this summer, leaving Chris Hughes with gaps to fill.
