Pontypridd Town are to play their home games at the University of South Wales Sports Park, following a move from Ynysangharad Park.
The Dragons have formed an exciting new partnership with the University.
The club announced the news on their official website on Saturday afternoon.
In a statement released by the club, the club explored renovating their current home, as well as moves to other grounds, but have chosen USW Sports Park as their new home.
The Club is delighted to announce that as of the 2017/2018 season the team will move into the state of the art USW Sport Park, Treforest.
The team will no longer be playing home games out of Ynysangahrad Park, but will instead be based at the Universities state of the art venue.
In recent years, Pontypridd Town have done everything we can to renovate our Ynysangharad Park base, but due to constraints by the council as it is a memorial park, this has not been possible. Other links were also considered, partnering with Pontypridd Rugby, Pontypridd high school and more recently, looking to utilise the facilities at the Maritime. However, all presented issues that ultimately meant we had to look elsewhere.
This link with the University of South Wales is fantastic and will ensure the club now has the facilities off the pitch to match our future ambitions. Everybody at the club has worked so hard over the past few years to make this move happen and we are delighted that we can finally look to a brighter future for Pontypridd Town FC.
Ponty’s now former home Ynysangharad Park played host to the clubs high-profile fixture with the talkSPORT All Stars, attracting almost 1,600 supporters.
Their old home will stage the Nathaniel MG Cup fixture against Taffs Well and any other further midweek cup matches.
The first game scheduled to be played at the USW Sports Park is Pontypridd’s second league game of the season against Aberdare Town.

How does the USW sports ground go for Welsh Premier League football?
Is it compliant, or does work need to be undertaken?
That was always the big issue about Ynysangharad Park and what prompted the exploratory talks with the Rugby Club 10(?) years ago when the club started to have WPL ambitions.
