Ganderton lauds best career achievement after Dynamo Aber promotion

Dynamo Aber manager Luke Ganderton says his sides promotion from Divion One into the Premier Divison is the biggest thing he’s achieved in his career.

It’s the second consecutive promotion in years for the Caerphilly based side after being promoted from the South Wales Alliance Division Two last season.

Ganderton whose playing career was cut short by injury had previously scored for the club in the Welsh Cup first round proper but says that this promotion to the Premier Division eclipsed that.

“The back to back promotion is the best achievement I’ve had from a playing and managerial perspective. As my playing career was cut short with a knee injury it’s fantastic that I can still be part of the club and mange a team to where they deserve to be.”

Individually, the former AFC Caerphilly midfielder says that the promotion goes alongside his plans for the club and saw the club in the Premier Divison under his guidanceship.

“For me it’s a really good achievement and another step to where I always envisioned the club going. It’s great to get promoted to the premier division and the club deserved it with the boys performances throughout the season.”

Part of the reason Aber will be playing in a higher division next season is down to the amount of goals that they had scored. Both Aber and Clwb Cymric were level on 54 points but it would be Ganderton’s men they would be in the fifth tier of Welsh football next season.

“As a manager I’ve never settled for a score we are at during a game.
I’ve always pushed the boys hard for the full 90 minutes to make sure we can get the best result possible, as you know anything can happen at the end of the season on the league table.”

Due to a backlog of fixtures due to bad weather, it meant that the fate of Aber’s promotion would instead be decided by what Clwb Cymric did.

For Aber it would be delight, the manager Luke Gamderton and a number of the first team players went to Cwrt y-Ala to watch FC Cwmaman prevail as 2-1 winners, thus meaning that Dynamo Aber would be playing in a higher Divison next season.

“A few of the squad members and myself went down to watch the game, it was a very high standard game throughout. Cwmaman are a great footballing team they worked so hard in a game they had nothing to play for but I give great credit to the team, they are professional and they came through with a great win it was unbelievable we couldn’t believe we where promoted.”

Ganderton spoke earlier in the season to YClwbPelDroed and said he was delighted to have achieved the target he set his side whilst in a commanding position.

“I’m delighted we achieved my target of the top three finish this season I’ve set the bar high for the squad and they really pulled it out of the bag this season with a great promotion. We now go on to next season now where we work hard and aim big again.”
