Buckley Town secure sponsorship deal with Chinese firm

Welsh National League Premier Division side Buckley Town have today announced a new sponsorship deal with a Chinese manufacturing firm.

Shanghai-based garment manufacturer Koomax will be the main suppliers and the named sponsor for both the first team and reserve team kits, with naming rights for the club’s main stand at the Globe stadium also included in the deal.

Starting for this forthcoming 2017/18 season, the sponsorship was secured in association with Complete Sports Solutions, a sports-tour company which supports the finances of the Flintshire club.

The news comes as a boost to Buckley Town who are preparing for a season in the third tier Welsh National Premier Division after relegation from the Huws Gray Alliance in May.

It is the latest show of Chinese interest in the British football scene with Birmingham, Aston Villa, Wolves and West Brom all attracting recent investment from the country.

Koomax Managing Director Frank Suen said:

“Our new purpose built 7000 square metre factory is dedicated to producing the finest quality sublimated sport uniforms in the world. From our humble beginnings in 2009 we now produce over one million finished garments every year and have hundreds of customers worldwide. Through continual reinvestment we now have over $3 million invested in our state of the art equipment and are able to meet the demands of both large and small customers alike.

“Our next challenge is developing the UK market and through our partnership with Complete Sports Solutions and Buckley Town FC we see this as a natural progression into the schools and sports clubs market.”

Buckley Chairman, Allan Botterell said:

“I am delighted to announce that Complete Sports Solutions have once again raised their game. Their support during these last two years has been invaluable. Our new kit, which is in the process of being manufactured by the Chinese company Koomax, already looks fantastic on paper. They have interpreted our old design and have managed to produce a stylish product. I believe it has a very appealing and cool modern twist. I know that our players are looking forward to receiving and playing in such quality kit.

“Jamie Digwood has worked tirelessly on our behalf and his efforts have certainly paid off. He made a promise to support us and has more than fulfilled his part of the bargain by ensuring that the finance for pitch and ground improvements would be in place so that we could prepare for the new season, and that we would have quality kit delivered in time for 2017-18 campaign.”

Tom Shorey, Commercial Director for Complete Sports Solution stated:

“Our affiliation with Buckley Town FC and the local community continues to develop on a local scale, as does our company’s brand globally. We have already made significant progress in China over the past 12 months and will continue to develop this region as an area of significant interest and growth. We are finding that an increasing love of football in China has meant that their companies are now showing genuine interest in our own affiliation with Buckley Town FC and there is a huge potential of China investment in Welsh football and the European Qualification.”

“As the Chinese commercial market understands our business we are discovering that these companies are genuinely intrigued to be involved in the Welsh system. We have been working on a long-term plan with Buckley Town FC and now, with the assistance of major companies such as Koomax, these plans may well develop sooner than we first envisaged. Our company’s aim is to continue to assist off the field bringing new partners, investment and improved facilities to the local Buckley club and its community”.

Buckley start the new season on Friday 11 August away to Saltney Town, where a rebuilt side led by a management team of Dan Moore and Alan Edwards will be keen to impress as the club seeks a return to the second tier.
