FC Nomads sign experienced striker Tuck

Welsh National League Premier Division side FC Nomads have completed the signing of a striker well known to the North Wales football scene.

Shaun Tuck joins FC Nomads after leaving Huws Gray Alliance side Holywell Town, where he enjoyed prolific status upfront for the Wellmen, contributing to an impressive 5th place finish last season.

Tuck has previously played in the English system for Colwyn Bay, Warrington Town and Marine FC.

He joins a strong FC Nomads squad seeking a successful title challenge after the club was rejected a licence for promotion to the HGA after winning the Welsh National League championship in 2016.

Speaking to Y Clwb Pel Droed, FC Nomads manager Tom Taylor hailed Tuck’s signature as a significant coup for the third tier club.

“Obviously we are over the moon to secure a player of Tuckers ability! We identified that we needed an out and out goalscorer, but we would never of thought the club could attract a player like this. This is not only a massive coup for us, but the league.

“We as a management team are 100% confident that Tucker will give us the goals that we need to mount a serious title challenge.”

Tuck is expected to be available for FC Nomads’ trip to Corwen FC in the JD Welsh Cup qualifying round two on Saturday 9 September for a 2:30pm kick off.
