Llandudno’s Morgan and Met’s Roscrow claim monthly gongs for August

Llandudno’s Alun Morgan and Cardiff Metropolitan University’s Adam Roscrow have claimed the monthly awards in the opening month of the Welsh Premier League.

Morgan has been rewarded with the Manager of the Month whilst Roscrow has won the Player of the Month after some stand-out individual performances.

Tudno are the only side in the Welsh Premier League to not suffer a defeat in the League this season, whilst Met’s Adam Roscrow has been in inspired form.

Alun Morgan’s men recorded convincing victories over Carmarthen Town and Aberystwyth, before beating last years second placed side the Connah’s Quay Nomads in a tight- encounter.

Goals from Sean Cavanagh, Danny Shaw, Sam Hart and summer signing Toby Jones have helped the 43 year-old to the award, as they look to improve on their ninth placed finish last season.

Roscrow who scored six goals last season is already halfway to completing that tally after scoring three goals in the opening month after netting a brace in the Met’s surprise 3-1 victory over Bangor City and in the narrow defeat to Bala Town.

The 22 year-old who is in his fifth season at Cyncoed Campus has looked a class above for Met this season and has been instrumental in to their good start, which sees them sit in second placed behind the leaders Llandudno, before the state of play on Match-day Five.

Speaking after the Bangor City game, Roscrow spoke about there being no pressure to be Met’s main source of goals, with the importance of it being a team effort, rather than relying on one player.

“It’s very much a team game, as a front line and even in our midfield there’s goals in our side that can beat them.”
