Former Connah’s Quay Nomads forward Rhys Healey has penned a new deal at English Championship side Cardiff City.
Healey who is currently out of action after suffering an anteior cruciate and medial ligament damage had eight-months left on his contract
The 22 year-old left the Deeside Stadium for a club record fee back in 2013 after impressing Cardiff scouts during his time in the Welsh Premier League.
It was announced during half-time of Cardiff City vs Millwall that Rhys Healey had signed a new contract, as he did enough to impress manager Neil Warnock before his injury.
“I can’t wait to get back.” expressed Healey, showing how eager he is to return to action following his unfortunate injury.
The Manchester-born forward burst onto the scene back in 2010 as he scored five goals in 12 appeances in his first season with the Connah’s Quay Nomads as he helped them to promotion to the Welsh Premier League season.
He made his top flight debut at the young age of just eighteen and an impressive return of 12 goals in 20 appearances and two goals in two appearances in the 2012/2013 season, earned him trials at Manchester City and Stoke City, before joining Cardiff City.
He has since had loan moves at Colchester United, Dundee and Newport County, scoring a total of 32 goals in 95 appearances altogether.
