Cult hero Gary O’Toole signs for Rhydymwyn FC

Prolific striker and ex Welsh Premier League top scorer Gary O’ Toole has signed for Rhydymwyn FC of the Welsh National League Division One.

O’Toole is a well known face on the North Wales football scene, having netted 96 goals in 130 appearances for Connah’s Quay Nomads.

He has experience of professional football having broke into Coventry’s first team from their academy and represented Wolves as a youth.

The centre forward first joined the Nomads in 2005/06 and made 20 Welsh Premier League appearances, he moved to play for Caernarfon Town and then Eastham.

He returned to the Quay to win consecutive Huws Gray Alliance golden boots in 2011 and 2012, and scored 26 goals in the top flight for the Deeside club.

Such was his continuous goal scoring form, he became a fan favourite at Deeside and a mainstay of then manager Mark McGregor’s line up.

O Toole then moved to Bangor but returned to Deeside for a 17 month spell. After leaving Nomads for the final time, he joined Conwy Borough.

O’ Toole joins Rhydymwyn after a year out from football but has been hailed as a marquee signing by the Flintshire club.
