Barry Town United have signed Bangor City forward James Demetriou ahead of the January transfer window deadline, which shuts tomorrow.
Demetriou who joined the Citizens back in October, following a spell out in Cyprus returns to South Wales, having previously played for Swansea City.
The 22-year-old made 11 appearances for the Citizens during his time at Nantporth. He also played a part in the club’s JD Welsh Cup fixture with Cwmamman United, where he was on the score sheet.
The former Swans youngster made an immediate impact when he netted on his debut against Bala Town, but has found appearances hard to come by.
Bangor have since thanked Demetriou for his contribution to the club on an official statement on their website.
“Bangor City FC wishes James the best of luck in his new venture and thanks him for his services to the club. Diolch, James.
This is the first signing that Barry Town United have made in the January transfer window. The Citizens, however, have signed Yves Zama and Joel Bembo-Leta in recent weeks and are expected to make at least one further signing.
Oh what a signing. Happy with this transfer window. Shows our fans that we as a management team @kevnicholson1 @SJVaughan85 are moving this club in the right direction. Just need the fans to support us even more in these last 10 games. Be patient an all will be revealed soon.👏🏼
