We are delighted to announce that Y Clwb Pêl-Droed has been nominated in the Best International Football Blog at this years Football Blogging Awards.
The website is one of ten finalists in the International Football Blog, competing with pages like Euro Football Daily, SempreInter and Football Paradise, who won the last award back in 2016.
The finals will be held at the Alexandra Palace in London on the 17th May, where there will be a Judge’s Award and a Votes Award
Our website was set up back in 2015 with the aims of adding to the ongoing coverage of Welsh domestic football. In the summer of 2016, a new site was formed and the coverage of Welsh football has continued to thrive since. We have since accumulated almost half a million views on our website. We are also on the panel for JD Welsh Premier League’s monthly awards.
“It’s fantastic to see our work recognised and I’m extremely thankful for those who have helped in getting us to the Finals,” said Y Clwb Pel-Droed co-founder Jordan Jones.
“To be nominated for such an award and to be considered alongside some high quality websites, shows that there is a market for Welsh domestic football.”
Before fellow co-founder Nick Davies added, “It’s been a remarkable journey as a website. To see the results and growth of our coverage of Welsh domestic football has been nothing short of remarkable. Our nomination is just evidence that Welsh football is a market that definitely has potential for growth.
“For the future, regardless of the result, we want to help continue to grow the coverage of the game, and to expose more people to the wonderful world of Welsh football.”
