Holywell Town manager John Haseldin is to stand down from his role at First Team Manager at the end of the season.
Increased work and private commitments with his young family is the reason why Haseldin is to stand down from his role.
Under the guidance of Haseldin, he won a Welsh Alliance League title, alongside the FAW Trophy, Cookson Cup and Mawddach Cup. He also led the club to the semi-finals of the JD Welsh Cup, back in 2013/2014.
“The club would like to place on record our gratitude & best wishes to manager John Haseldin who has decided to step down at the end of the current campaign due to increased work & private commitments with his young family,” said a statement released by Holywell Town.
John, and his dedicated staff, has overseen the most successful period in the club’s recent history, firmly re-establishing the Wellmen back in tier two of the Welsh Football structure in an era of growth in the both the Welsh domestic game, and the club.”
In terms of his successor, Holywell Town say that “John’s replacement will be announced in due course.” with a quick appointment expected.
Haseldin will take charge of the Wellmen for the last time at Halkyn Road this Wednesday, as they host Eddie Maurice-Jones’ Denbigh Town.As well as the fixture with Denbigh, Haseldin will be in the dugout in their away matches at Penrhyncoch and Porthmadog.
Holywell Town currently sit fifth in the division and could finish as high as second, should they win their final three remaining fixtures.
