Aberdare Town manager Wayne Powell has handed his resignation in to the club, with still two games remaining.
Powell had only been in the role since November after taking over from Matthew Driscoll. He and his two coaches Gareth Harbord and Rob Hudson have also left the club.
The resignation comes after a 0-0 draw with local rivals AFC Llwydcoed on Wednesday evening. Simon Jones has been handed the reigns for the final two games against promotion chasing Pontypridd Town and Garden Village.
“Aberdare Town Football Club has been informed by Wayne Powell of his immediate resignation from his role as first team manager.” said Aberdare Town in an official statement.
The Committee wish to place on record their thanks to Wayne, Gareth Harbord and Rob Hudson for their efforts in what has been a difficult season.
For the remaining two games of the season Simon Jones will take on the role of caretaker manager.”
The club will now seek a new manager for the upcoming season and are inviting applicants to apply. The deadline is the 17th May and interested parties should email info@aberdaretownfc.co.uk.

Interested applicants should be self motivated, hold, or be prepared to work towards, relevant coaching badges, have a working knowledge of Welsh League football and want to work with the committee to develop the club in line with its ambitions and to understand its limitations.
The deadline for applications is Thursday 17th May with interviews likely to take place in the week commencing 21st May.
