Bangor City appoint Craig Harrison as new manager as they prepare for life in Cymru Alliance

Bangor City have moved to make former New Saints boss Craig Harrison their new manager following the departures of Kevin Nicholson and Gary Taylor-Fletcher.

The Citizens recently lost their Welsh Premier League pro license and therefore, will play in the Cymru Alliance for the 2018/2019 season.

Harrison led The New Saints to a record number of wins on the spin during the 2016/2017 season, surpassing Ajax’s record which stood for 44-years as he guided The Oswestry-based outfit to yet another Welsh Premier League title.

The former Crystal Palace defender then took charge of National League outfit, Hartlepool United after his successes of managing in the Welsh Premier League, winning ten games out of a possible 36.

“The club in itself is a massive club. I’m really looking forward to being back involved, back in Wales and trying to get the club back to where it belongs to be,” said Harrison.

The target is to get back to the Welsh Premier League as soon as possible. That is the be all end all. There has been a lot of upset over the last few weeks, but we need to use every bit of energy to get out of this league.”

Harrison most certainly has the experience, having managed The New saints between 2011 and 2017 in the JD Welsh Premier League – the 40-year-old also took charge of Airbus UK Broughton during a three-year period, between 2008 and 2011.
