Dewi Llion-Jones and Matthew Jones have been appointed as the new management duo of Denbigh Town.
Both have previously worked together at Bala Town’s U19s side, as well as studying the UEFA A Licence together.
The pair replaces Eddie Maurice-Jones who left Denbigh, to take up the vacancy left by Matthew Jones and Paul Connolly.
“We have our ideas and plans in the direction we would like to go and are very ambitious and want to kick in after the incredible season the club had the last term,” said Matthew Jones on the clubs official website.
I am now looking forward to getting started. “
Llion-Jones spent time under previous managers Gareth Thomas and Eddie Maurice-Jones. Denbigh Town finished second in the Cymru Alliance last season.
Dewi is born and bred in Denbigh, with previous playing experience for the club, along with Ruthin Town and Llandyrnog United. However the 25-year-old has focused primilarly on coaching.
“We know how each one works and thinks. We hope to start recruiting the right players straight away and want those willing to give it all on the pitch for this club. ” said Dewi Jones on his appointment.
Jones returns to the club having previously been the Reserve manager. He has since managed Llandudno Junction, before working as Assistant Manager to Niall McGuinness.
Announcements will be made soon on the appointment of an assistant manager, players futures and the clubs pre-season schedule.
