Cardiff Metropolitan University winger Jordan Lam joins Hereford

Vanarama National League North side Hereford have signed Cardiff Metropolitan University attacker Jordan Lam.

The 24-year-old had been on trial at Football League club Newport County before picking up an injury but has put pen to paper to a deal with the sixth tier outfit.

Lam’s international clearance didn’t come through in time today, as Hereford lost 1-0 to Chorley, but may be in line for his debut against Bradford Park Avenue.

“Clearance is done, finally it came through,” said manager Pete Beadle to Bull News regarding the signing.

“He’s now eligible to play, he wasn’t eligible for today, it didn’t come through in time so he’ll train Tuesday and Thursday this week with us.

“He trained last Thursday and trained very well, he’ll train this week and we’ll see where we go, whether we’ll include him, and whether he’s ready for us for Saturday.

“Hopefully he’ll give us something a little bit different. He’s very direct and very positive in his play. We’ve watched him for a couple of seasons actually so we’re delighted to have him on board.

“Another prospect. He’s 24 so he’s a good age, he’s joining us at a good time so he’ll add to the group.”

He’s the second Welsh Premier League player to leave for Hereford this summer.

Barry Town United midfielder Callum Sainty also signed for the Bulls earlier this summer.

Lam hadn’t been involved in the Archers pre-season plans and didn’t play in their two opening Welsh Premier League games, where they won both.
