There are seven games this weekend in the Huws Gray Alliance, as the league resumes following midweek league action in North Wales.
There are two standout fixtures in the Huws Gray Alliance this weekend, a local derby between Buckley vs Holywell on Friday night, whilst league leaders Airbus travel to Rhyl on Saturday.
Buckley vs Holywell
The Bucks come into this game on a four match unbeaten run in the league, Dan Moore’s side are currently sitting in the top four. They welcome rivals Holywell Town to the Globe on Friday evening, Gareth Sudlow side picked up a big three points in mid week against Gresford, but since then Johnyy Haseldin has returned to manage the club and would be eager for his side to continue from where they finished on Tuesday evening.
Llanrhaeadr vs Gresford
Llan endeda three match winless run when they beat Penrhyncoch 1-0 in midweek. Khyam Wyton gave Marc Griffiths’ side a big three points on Tuesday evening. Gresford currently sit it 13th position after they have lost their last two games in the league, meaning there will be plenty at stake in this weekend’s fixture.
Flint vs Conwy Borough
It’s been a good start for Niall McGuiness’ side, who are currently second in the league behind league leaders Airbus. Flint come into this game on the back of a 2-0 win at Rhyl in midweek. All the games Gareth Thomas’ side have lost have been narrow, including a defeat at Bangor on Tuesday. They face another difficult game when they travel to Flint on Saturday afternoon.
Prestatyn vs Penrhyncoch
Prestatyn beat Penrhyncoch two weeks ago in the Huws Gray Alliance Cup, as the home side won 4-0. Prestatyn come into this game on a back of 2-1 defeat to Denbigh, and the seasiders are currently sitting bottom of the Huws Gray Alliance with just four points to their name. Penrhyn haven’t won in four games and are currently in 9th position, but will be hoping they can put an end to that run this weekend.
Rhyl vs Airbus
Rhyl are on a three match winless run. It’s been a difficult few weeks for the Lilywhites and this weekend’s test is no easier. This Saturday they welcome Airbus to the Corbett Sports Stadium, with the league leaders having won all eight of their league fixtures so far this season. With Asa Hamilton leading the line, the Wingmakers will be looking to make it nine out of nine this Saturday.
Guilsfield vs Holyhead
The Guils’ boss Nathan Leonard will be looking for a reaction from his players after Tuesday night’s heavy defeat to league leaders Airbus. Holyhead suffered a 1-0 nil defeat to Porthmadog, and both sides will be desperate for the win as they jostle for league positions in the Huws Gray.
Porthmadog vs Denbigh
Both teams come into this on the back of midweek wins, meaning we should have a tight game on our hands. Port won at Holyhead, whilst Denbigh beat Prestatyn. Both managers will be looking to build momentum in the league, and they will view this test as the perfect opportunity to rack up back to back wins.
