Pontypridd defender Nyran Bird has left the club in order to join Welsh League Division Three outfit Treharris Athletic Western.
Bird was a mainstay in the Pontypridd squad under Damien and Dominic Broad and was part of the squad that secured two promotions in three years as the Dragons rose from Division Three all the way to Welsh League Division One.
But, Damien Broad left his role as manager at the club earlier this month with the club languishing towards the bottom of the table in Division One, having been made to play their opening set of fixtures away from their temporary home at Cardiff International Sports Stadium.
Pontypridd have since drawn 3-3 against Ammanford and secured their second win of the season with a 1-0 home victory over Ton Pentre.
However, the defender is the second player to leave the club in the space of a few weeks, following Adam Johns, who joined Trethomas Bluebirds earlier this season as some of the Pontypridd old guard depart the club.
Treharris have made a couple of signings in the last few weeks to add to the addition of Bird, including AFC Porth forward Conner Berry, who is fit for the first time since switching clubs.
Treharris have won four games this season in 10 fixtures, and will be hoping he can help tighten up their defence who have conceded 18 goals in 10 games.
The duo will be available for their debuts this weekend as the club host Caerau in Division Three.
