Airbus UK Broughton continued to soar above their Huws Gray Alliance counterparts this weekend, which also saw significant results for the likes of Denbigh Town, Llanrhaeadr, and Ruthin Town.
Bangor City 3-0 Prestatyn Town
Only last year this game was a JD Welsh Premier League affair, but on Friday night Bangor met Prestatyn at the VSM Stadium to rekindle their top flight rivalry.
The Citizens took the lead through Mike Williams on 11 minutes, and five minutes later his brother Marc doubled the home side’s lead to make it 2-0 after just 16 minutes.
In the second half, Bangor winger Jacob Farleigh sealed the win with a 66th minute strike, but the game wasn’t without its feisty moments as Prestatyn’s frustrations began to show.
There was a twist to the win for Bangor, as director of football Steven Vaughan Jnr confirmed he was leaving his post at the Citizens to take up an assistant manager post at Malta’s Mosta FC.
Denbigh Town 3-1 Holyhead Hotspurs
Denbigh and Holyhead went to head to head in a six pointer at the bottom of the table on Friday evening.
The visitors took the lead through Marc Evans on 30 minutes, but their advantage was short lived as Sam Jones equalised in the 38th.
With the score level at 1-1 during the interval, Pat Hinchcliffe sent Denbigh ahead after the hour mark, before Tony Davies sent the home support into elation with a stoppage team strike to send his side up to 13th in the league standings.
Flint Town United 2-0 Buckley
After a goalless first half, Flint were gifted the lead through an Andy Brown own-goal, with a Jack Higgins stoppage time strike securing a Flintshire derby win for Flint in what was a tense affair at Cae Y Castell.
Holywell Town 0-3 Airbus UK Broughton
After a goalless first half, the Wingmakers came out flying in the second half to showcase the dominance that has sent them 12 points clear at the top.
Leading Airbus goalscorer Asa Hamilton broke the deadlock on 58 minutes, with Lewis Buckley soon doubling the lead before securing a brace on 85 minutes.
Llanrhaeadr YM 2-1 Conwy Borough
The Mid-Wales hosts took the lead after just two minutes thanks to a Marc Griffiths goal, but Conwy’s Corrig McGonigle converted a penalty to ensure an all-square interval at Treflan
But around 20 minutes after the restart, Joe Vaughan scored what would be the winner to continue Llanrhaeadr’s excellent return to the Huws Gray Alliance.
Rhyl 4-1 Guilsfield
Rhyl’s resurgence after a tough start to the season was seen on Saturday, when they made it four wins in a row with a comprehensive victory over Guilsfield.
Rhyl took a 1-0 lead in at half time through Gareth Partridge, before extending their lead to 2-0 just before the hour mark through an own goal from Andy Ford.
Connah’s Quay academy products Joe Sullivan and Ben Nash then completed the scoring with in the 64th and 74th minute respectively.
James Parry scored an 80th minute consolation for Guilsfield who sit 10th in the table.
Elsewhere in the league, Kevin Evans’ solitary second half strike was enough to give Ruthin three points at Penrhyncoch, whilst Porthmadog snatched a late win at Gresford with an 88th minute winner from Shaun Cavanagh.
