Connah’s Quay Nomads have announced centre-half Priestley Farquharson as their first signing of the January transfer window.
Farquharson, a 21-year-old centre-half, joins the Deeside club on an 18 month full-time contract from Isthmian League side Hayes & Yeading, with 45 appearances during the past three seasons.
The young defender previously played for Bishop’s Stortford, before joining Hayes & Yeading earlier this summer, and is the former captain of Brunel University’s men’s team.
Farquharson, who hails from London, is an England national beach soccer international, having made 61 appearances for The Three Lions, recently representing them at the 2018 Euro Beach Soccer League Superfinal held in Alghero, Italy.
Speaking to the Nomads’ official website, manager Andy Morrison spoke of his excitement at securing his services.
He said: “We’re delighted to welcome Priestley to the club – he came highly recommended from our contacts in the London area. After a two week training camp it was a very easy decision to offer him a permanent full time deal.”
The Nomads’ new signing will wear the number 18 shirt, and may be in contention to join Nomads’ squad for their final phase one game against Carmarthen next week, subject to international clearance.
The signing comes with Connah’s Quay Nomads currently sitting top of the league, just one point above Barry Town and two above reigning champions TNS.
