Eardley insists Cofis “will leave everything out there”

Caernarfon Town boss Sean Eardley has insisted that his players “will leave everything out there” as his side prepare to face Bangor in the JD Welsh Cup this weekend.

In what is certainly the clash of the weekend, the Cofis travel to the Bangor University Stadium full of confidence to face their fierce rivals.

Caernarfon are flying high having secured a top six spot, whilst Bangor are enduring their maiden season in the Huws Gray Alliance after demotion last season.

However, this is the first time the two sides have played in three years. The last meeting between the two rivals was in 2015 when the Canaries were celebrating a 1-0 victory in the Word Cup.

But, this weekend promises to be something even more special. Both Bangor and Caernarfon players will be playing in front of 2,000+ fans on Saturday evening. The visiting boss Eardley is looking forward to the occasion and he’s warned that his players will give their all.

Most definitely, as I’ve said the atmosphere will be electric and games of this magnitude don’t come around often, we will leave everything out there and come away with no regret that’s for sure.”

But, despite the added pressure of a big crowd, Eardley is instead choosing to see it as a positive.

“I’m treating it as just another game, with a sprinkle of
spice added to it. The atmosphere will be unbelievable so I’m looking forward to embracing it.”

The club have been in a purple patch of form recently and have secured their position for another season in the JD Welsh Premier League.

However, the derby matches often throw up the possibility of sides mixing things up tactically.

Eardley is expecting a tough task against Bangor. But, the Cofis’ boss insists preparations haven’t changed ahead of the big local derby on Saturday.

“Preparation has not changed, we will be and have been meticulous every week and nothing will change before Saturday’s game.”

“A very tough one, they have quality all over and options from the bench too so we have to be at our very best to get a positive result.”

Eardley insists his players are excited at the prospect of this weekend’s cup tie, but  he is encouraging his players to enjoy the occasion.

“The players are buzzing and looking forward to the game, again similar to myself they need to embrace it as these type of games don’t come along often.”
