Reigning-JD Welsh Cup champions Connah’s Quay Nomads will travel to Caernarfon Town in this season’s last eight, in a quarter-final draw that includes even top-flight sides.
The Cofis knocked rivals Bangor City out of the tournament on Saturday, in front of a crowd of more than 2000 at Nantporth. Andy Morrison’s Nomads stayed on course to defend their title after coming from behind to defeat Carmarthen Town 3-1 at Richmond Park.
Welsh Premier League leaders Barry Town United will host defeated Nathaniel MG Cup finalists Cambrian & Clydach Vale. The Linnets edged past Cefn Druids in round four, while Cam knocked Cymru Alliance side Rhyl out on penalties, after the game finished 1-1.
The New Saints kept their hopes of a seventh Welsh Cup title, after dispatching Cymru Alliance leaders Airbus 5-2 in the fourth round. Their reward is a trip to the Giant Hospitality Stadium to play Llandudno, whom they have netted 15 goals against in their three meetings to date this season.
Nathaniel MG Cup champions Cardiff Metropolitan will face Bala Town at Maes Tegid in the last eight. The Archers came from behind to see off Aberystwyth Town 3-1 at Park Avenue, while the Lakesiders scored four goals in extra time to settle their tie against Haverfordwest County.
The ties will be played on the weekend of 2/3 March.
