A floodlight fire at Barry Town United’s meant abandonment in tonight’s televised fixture with Bala Town.
Steven Tames gave the Lakesiders the minute in the 14th minute, but almost immediately after the goal, the floodlights had blown.
This is the second time that Bala Town have had to deal with floodlight failure, having scored in similar circumstances against Flint Town United in another televised fixture in December.
In December, the floodlights caught on fire in Barry’s fixture with Caernarfon Town, prompting an earlier kick-off for their next home fixture.
Barry Town United are scheduled to host another televised night fixture at Jenner Park Stadium against the Connah’s Quay Nomads in the Welsh Premier League. The Quarter-Final between Barry Town United and Cambrian & Clydach Vale has also been chosen for television coverage.
The fixture will now be rearranged as the Lakesiders make a second trip down to South Wales. Barry Town United have offered free entry.
