Cardiff Met duo Dr Christian Edwards and striker Adam Roscrow have been awarded the JD Welsh Premier League Manager and Player of the Month awards for January.
January was a successful month for the Archers, as they picked up two wins in the league, whilst they also defeated Cambrian and Clydach Vale BGC 2-0 in the Nathaniel MG Cup final at Jenner Park to close out the month.
It was an impressive month for Edwards’ men and their success has seen the manager rewarded for their form during the start of 2019.
The club ended their run of three straight final defeats, after a loss in last year’s Nathaneil MG Cup final to TNS, whilst they also lost two successive European play-off finals to Bangor City and Cefn Druids respectively.
But, they also strung together a 3-0 win over Bala Town to start 2019, before notching up the same result over Llandudno to record back to back Welsh Premier League victories.
Edwards’s men kept clean sheets in all of their January fixtures, and the goalscoring form of Roscrow saw the striker earn the Player of the Month award.
The striker has been a mainstay in the Met squad for a number of years, and he notched goals in all their January outings.
He scored in the 3-0 win over the Lakesiders, before notching a brace away to Llandudno.
The star man then followed this up with another double as the students secured a trophy to end the month.
