Taffs Well boss Jamie Sherwood stands down from post

Taffs Well manager Jamie Sherwood has stood down from his role with immediate effect.

Sherwood had only been in the role for five months since taking over from Adrian Needs.

It was announced on Sherwood’s personal twitter that he would be leaving the club.

His statement read: “It is with great regret that I have decided to leave the club with immediate effect.

“I hoped to at the very least, to see out my initial term as the manager of a club.

“My friends and family all knew how proud and excited I was to take this role and I fully believe the players and staff could see this passion, belief and desire to resurrect this club to where we all believe it should be.

“There was a desire for us all to make a difference on and off the pitch along with developing the structures and framework within the club but sadly we could not find the resolution to move the club forward and it is at this point I believe that I could no longer work in the way that is needed.”

Assistant manager Steve Williams will see out the season with the Wellmen as caretaker manager.

Taffs Well are currently second from bottom with eight games remaining in the season.

Their next game is this Saturday when they welcome Port Talbot to Rhiw’r Ddar.
