Lee Trundle’s hat-trick past Ynysygerwn put Trefelin on their way to promotion in a historic night at Ynys Park.
Ceri Williams put Trefelin on their way before Joe Humphries equaliser before Trundle restored Trefelin’s lead. Ynysygerwn failed to reply to his goal and were made to deal with further goals from the former Swan, as well as a brace from Jordan Edwards.
Richie Ryan’s side earned the victory they need to confirm promotion to the third tier of Welsh football after narrowly missing out last year.
Scoring three goals in each half, put the Port Talbot club on their way to promotion as they cruised past next week’s League Cup finalists.
Captain Ceri Williams provided the hosts with the perfect start after drilling the shot past Coles into the bottom corner.
Lee Trundle went close to doubling their tally as his header glanced wide of the goal.
Ynysygerwn equalised as they tried to spoil the party. Joe Humphries hit a superb free-kick, cannoning in off the crossbar.
That goal didn’t affect Trefelin though as Trundle showed great precisian to hit a strike off the upright of the goal.
Substitute Jordan Edwards got in on the scoring action to further the lead. He was denied by Simon Coles a few minutes earlier but after a lay off from Dan Thomas, Edwards snuck an effort under the goalkeeper.
The last action of the half was a header from Lee Trundle which rattled the crossbar after a Dan Thomas cross.
Having been denied by the crossbar for his second, Trundle had his second goal. A free-kick on the far side evaded everybody as it sailed past Coles.
Trefelin’s attack really found their verve in a strong spell of pressure. Dan Thomas hit the crossbar after a layoff from Trundle.
Substitute Jordan Edwards grabbed a second with a composed finish after a layoff from Dan Thomas.
Matthew Stanton still had to be alert for any consolation goals. He did well to save Joe Newell’s effort after staying onside.
There was even more to celebrate when Lee Trundle bagged his hat-trick. Michael Chaves played a killer ball through to Trundle who dinked it over Coles for his third.
In the final ten minutes, Damon Thomas’ curling effort almost got him on the scoresheet, whilst an adventurous Travis Monks-Landeg almost scored on the rebound.
Having rounded Coles, Trundle opted to square to Monks-Landeg rather than bagging a fourth, but Monks-Landeg was denied by a goal line block.
Damon Thomas went close with the last action of the game as his audacious lob from distance forced Coles to tip his effort over the bar.
