Connah’s Quay have confirmed that their Europa League tie with Kilmarnock will take place at Rhyl’s Belle Vue.
The Nomads were drawn against fellow British side Kilmarnock in today’s draw.
Wrexham AFC’s Racecourse Ground was considered as a potential venue, but Rhyl has been chosen as the venue for the all-Brit tie.
The stadium itself could host 3,000 people, however, the Qualifier must be all sealed, meaning the capacity could be limited to 1,720.
The Nomads will have home advantage first on the 11th July when Angelo Alessio brings his Killie side down to North Wales. Connah’s Quay returns to Scotland, four months after losing in the Irn-Bru Cup final to Ross County, for the return leg at Rugby Park on the 18th July.
Giving his reaction to LeaderLive.co.uk after the draw, Nomads boss Andy Morrison said: “We will be going into the game full on and all in.
“We will have no regrets at the end of the tie, we will give everything we’ve got.
“When we leave Kilmarnock I guarantee they will know they’ve been in a game.
“We’ve beaten Stabaek and Helsinki, so it’s a game of football we are looking forward to.”
Tomorrow, the Nomads will find out their Second qualifying round opponents, should they progress against Kilmarnock.
The Nomads have experience of playing at Belle Vue already. Last season, losing 3-1 to Belarusian side FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk.
