The ties for the qualifying and first round of the FAW Women’s Cup were confirmed today.

This season will see 36 clubs compete in the competition, which is the highest number of entries that the tournament has ever had.

Consequently, this means eight sides will have to play out a qualifying fixture which will take place on September 15, 2019.

In the northern section of the qualifying round, Division 2 side Corwen will host Prestatyn Town, who play in Division 1 of the North Wales Football League, meanwhile Connah’s Quay Nomads will travel to Llanberis.

In the southern qualifiers, newly-formed Newport City will face Swansea University and Cardiff Bluebirds welcome Baglan BGC.

The first round ties are scheduled to be played on October 20, with the two stand-out matches being Briton Ferry Llansawel welcoming fellow WPWL side Cardiff City, and the local derby between Cyncoed and reigning champions Cardiff Metropolitan.
