The Football Association of Wales has announced that the Gwynedd Football League will this season be subject to two Professional Registration Periods.
An email from the FAW to member clubs read: “Further to the recent registration of Professional Player(s) to a Club in membership of the Gwynedd Football League, the League is now immediately subject to the two Professional Registration Periods concerning registration and transfer of any Player to all Clubs in membership of the League.
The club in question is understood to be the recently-formed CPD Bangor 1876.
The two periods will take place in the Summer: from June 11 until midnight on September 2, and the Winter: January 1 until midnight on January 31.
The Gwynedd League is on the fifth level of domestic football in Wales, with successful teams being promoted to the Welsh Alliance League Division 2.
The phoenix club – whose creation was born out of frustration and apathy towards the situation at Bangor City FC – announced their name and crest in June, before being placed into the Gwynedd League a week later.
Since their formation, the club have signed the likes of Iwan Williams, the former Llandudno manager, ex-top flight striker Les Davies and Benn Lundstram; who joined from Bangor City.
