Welsh international forward Elise Hughes has signed her first professional contract with Women’s Super League side Everton Ladies.
Hughes has signed a two-year deal in Merseyside, which means she will be staying with the Halton Stadium outfit until at least summer 2021.
The 18-year-old made her senior debut for the Toffees in February 2018, and since then she has made 19 appearances.
The Everton academy graduate was named Wales’ Young Player of the Year after the role she played in her country’s World Cup 2019 qualifying campaign.
Speaking to evertonfc.com, she said: “For me to become a professional footballer is everything, it’s what I’ve dreamed of as a kid.
“I’ve been an Evertonian for as long as I can remember. From the moment when I signed as a young kid to now, it’s meant everything to me.
“I want to repay the faith in my manager (Willie Kirk) for giving me my first professional contract, I want to play as many games as I can and score goals for Everton.”
Hughes will wear the number nine shirt for the upcoming season, which gets underway on Saturday, September 7.
