Barry Town United have announced the signing of former Wales international David Cotterill to Jenner Park, subject to international clearance.
The former midfielder, who has made over 400 appearances for clubs such as Swansea City, Doncaster Rovers and Birmingham City, last played two years ago after a short spell with Indian Super League side ATK.
Cotterill announced his retirement from football in October 2018 but has since returned with Barry.
The Cardiff-born winger made 24 appearances for Wales and scored against Cyprus in their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign as they qualified for their first major tournament in fifty years.
Linnets manager Gavin Chesterfield told the club’s website how happy he was to bring Cotterill to the club.
“I’m delighted to welcome David to the club,” said Chesterfield to their official club website.
“It’s a boost for all involved with our football club and supporters of Welsh football.
“This has been something we have talked about for a while but the timing now seems right.
“At only 32 years old, David has a lot to offer on the field and in the changing room.
“He has shown a desire to be a part of our club and play with Jordan.
“David started his football at Barry Bluebirds at the age of six and it is great to welcome him back to Barry at this stage of his career.”
Cotterill has also played for Bristol City, Wigan Athletic, Sheffield United, Portsmouth, Barnsley and Bristol City.
