Welsh League club Trethomas Bluebirds have raised almost £1500 for the Aneurin Bevan Local Health Board.
Using their one hour of allowed exercise a day, Trethomas Bluebirds players and staff have
On the fundraising page, Trethomas Bluebirds say: “As a club we recognised the stress and strain that the NHS is under particularly here in Gwent.
“With the suspension of football and the governments ‘lockdown’ in place we decided that we wanted to give a little back to the frontline workers.
“We decided to use our individual exercise session per day to cover as many kilometres as possible over a 12 day period.
“We wanted to raise the money purely from within the club and therefore this was not advertised outside of the club itself.
“All of the money raised has come from the players, management and committee along with their close friends and families.
“We hope that this may provide a platform for further donations from our wider supporters and others.”
