Welsh League club Dinas Powys have raised more than £1000 after setting up a GoFundMe page.
The Vale of Glamorgan club have already surpassed their target of £1000 by raising £1050.
Supporters and players have raised the funds to support the Cardiff & Vale Health Board.
On the fundraising page, Dinas Powys have thanked the NHS staff for their work during the Coronavirus pandemic.
“All players, staff and supporters are extremely grateful to all NHS staff and are trying to help as best we can,” reads the statement from first-team player Harry Driscoll.
“We encourage other sports clubs and organisations do get on board, join in and raise much needed funds in these uncertain times.”
The idea came after senior players wanted to make a financial contribution to show their appreciation of the NHS Workers.
Donations to Dinas Powys’ cause can still be made through the GoFundMe page here.
