Taffs Well have proposed ambitious plans to dramatically improve their Rhiw’r Ddar home.
In a video released by the Taffs Well Academy, computer-generated images show a new artificial 3G pitch and improved changing rooms.
The plans also include an academy building which would house a gym. A conference and hospitality room would also be in the facility.
“The club and academy are delighted to release the news that we are now at the next stage of our development,” said a statement from the club.
“It was a huge ambition to achieve FAW accredited academy status for the club and now after academy success both on and off the pitch.
“The club is venturing into providing a female provision this season, along with the next stage in our development of creating a one location hub where the clubs’ talent can be nurtured.
“This is at a planning stage and we are under no illusion that it will take time, support and hard work to achieve but with goodwill on all sides, we will get to where we want to be.
The statement also states their desire for an all-weather pitch: “With the increasing adverse weather in Wales and the loss of football for the first & youth team its also a natural solution for the whole club.
“Taffs Well FC is a community club and the benefit this facility could bring to the local schools and wider community can’t be underestimated.
“Having a local RCT academy on your door step is an amazing opportunity for the area.
“We will be looking to utilise the coaching and expertise at the academy to reach out and benefit the wider community as a whole.”
Before the pause of football due to the coronavirus pandemic, Taffs Well were in the relegation zone of the Cymru South.
