Bangor 1876 crowned Gwynedd League champions in inaugural season

CPD Bangor 1876 have been crowned champions of the Gwynedd League in their inaugural season.

Before the season was suspended,  Bangor 1876 won each of their 16 league games and had a ten-point gap over Trearddur Bay Bulls.

League chairman Dafydd Owen said on the Gwynedd League website: “Following yesterday’s decision by the FAW just a short note to confirm there will be no further games to be played in either league or cups this season.

“As this is the last season of the league this is a very unfortunate way to finish but the reality is there was not much of a choice.

“The revised table is based on average points per game.

“Congratulations therefore to Bangor 1876 for finishing as champions in their first season as a club.

“Unbeaten in the league they are very worthy winners.”

The club now faces a wait on whether they will be promoted following the curtailment of the campaign.
