Taff & Ely Rhymney League’s Pontypridd to relocate to Ynysangharad Park

Taff & Ely Rhymney League side Pontypridd FC are moving to Ynysangharad Park.

Since their inception in 2018, the club have played at the Maritime 3G pitch but now they will make the move to the former home of Cymru Leagues outfit Pontypridd Town.

Ynysangharad Park had been the home of Pontypridd Town up until June 2017

After Pontypridd Town’s departure, clubs like Graig and Ynysybwl used the park as their home ground.

A statement from the committee said: “This is wonderful news for the club and a great opportunity for our senior players to now join the under 15s (from next season) in playing in Ynysangharad Park, which is the spiritual home of local football in Pontypridd.

“As well as boasting fantastic facilities that we hope will inspire our players to better performances on the pitch, it means our club is now based in the heart of the town on home matchdays.

“We believe this will provide the club with opportunities for more visibility, to offer a better matchday experience to existing and new fans, to connect more with our community and to increase our sponsor partnerships.

“On the pitch itself our players and coaches will continue to work to provide teams that represent our town well.”
