Wales right-back Connor Roberts is reportedly a target for Premier League side Sheffield United.

The Blades had initially been interested in Nottingham Forest defender Matty Cash but now their attention could be turned towards Roberts.

A report in The Sun says that Roberts is now on Chris Wilder’s radar as he adds to his squad for their second consecutive top-flight campaign.

Sun journalist Alan Nixon tweeted: “Sheff U. Want an extra left-back. Connor Roberts at Swansea now on radar. As well as Cash.

A move to Bramall Lane would see him link up with fellow Welshman Rhys Norrington-Davies.

One-time Wales international Alan Knill and Darren Ward who was capped five-times for Wales, are also on the coaching staff of Sheffield United.

Neath-born defender Roberts made 40 appearances for the Swans last season, including the two-legs of the Championship play-offs against Brentford.

The 24-year-old regularly featured in Wales’ EURO 2020 qualifying campaign, missing just one fixture, as an unused substitute against Hungary.

Prior to making his senior debut for Swansea in 2018, Roberts had loan spells with Bristol Rovers, Middlesbrough and Yeovil Town.
