Aberystwyth Town forward Touray Sisay poised to join Grimsby Town

Grimsby Town are close to completing the signing of Aberystwyth Town striker Alhagi Touray Sisay.

The 21-year-old scored four goals in five appearances after joining them in January.

Sisay moved to Aberystwyth after spells with Hearts, Hull City, Santi Vicenti and Stoke City.

Now his stay in the Cymru Premier looks to be a short one with Ian Holloway’s Grimsby.

BBC journalist Matt Dean says that Mariners are close to concluding a deal for the Aber forward.

The Spaniard is undergoing a medical ahead of a move to Blundell Park.

#gtfc are set to conclude deals for Spanish striker Alhagi Touray Sisay and former Halesowen Town forward Montel Gibson,” tweeted Matt Dean.

“Sisay had a trial at Hull City last year and has been at Aberystwyth. Gibson had a spell at Notts County and was prolific in the Southern League last season.”

A move to the Football League would see Touray follow in the footsteps of the likes of Adam Roscrow, Christian Doidge and Scott Quigley, all of whom have moved to the professional game after playing in the Welsh top flight.
